FAQs
Our goal is to keep you informed — from admission through recovery at home. The questions below cover how Platinum Hospitalists works inside the hospital, how we support you after discharge, what our specialty and education programs look like, and where to turn for billing or career information.
In the Hospital
A hospitalist is a doctor whose entire practice is caring for patients inside the hospital; they coordinate tests, consult specialists, and update your primary doctor so treatment stays on track.
Because we also run postacute, specialty, and followup clinics, your care stays under one umbrella — no information gaps, fewer delays, and lower chance of readmission.
We prepare a clear, easytoread discharge summary that lists what happened in the hospital, new or changed medicines, followup tests or appointments, and warning signs to watch for — all the details your primarycare clinician needs for a smooth handoff. If your doctor’s office uses a compatible electronic system, we can transmit the summary directly; otherwise, we’ll give you a copy (printed or electronic) to take to your followup visit.
After the Hospital
CCM is a Medicarerecognized service that covers the first 30 days after you leave the hospital. It starts with a phone call within 24 hours and includes a clinic, video, or eligible home visit within 7 days to make sure medicines are right, symptoms are stable, and followups are booked.
Early followup finds problems—like medication mixups or wound issues—before they turn into emergencies, a strategy shown to cut ER visits and readmissions. Learn more here (il provide a link soon)
Our PostAcute Hospitalists round at many partner facilities, keeping the same playbook you saw in the hospital so nothing falls through the cracks.
Specialty & Supportive Services
Right now we offer inpatient endocrinology, neurology, palliative care, infectious disease, psychiatry and pulmonology services. Our outpatient services include endocrinology and pulmonology and more are coming soon.
Your hospitalist and specialist work toward the same patientfirst goals, share updates instantly, and agree on one game plan, speeding decisions and avoiding repeat tests.
Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
In Nevada, Nurse Practitioners hold full practice authority—they can independently evaluate patients, make diagnoses, and prescribe treatments. By working in partnership with physicians, they expand access to care and use their advanced training to catch emerging issues early, supporting safer, highquality outcomes.
Yes. They hold national certification and state licenses that allow them to diagnose, treat, and prescribe. Physicians review complex cases and sign off when required by law or policy.
Billing
A hospital stay generates a facility bill for room, supplies, and nursing, plus professional bills for doctors and advanced practice providers who cared for you. These services follow different federal/state rules and are processed separately.
Nevada hospitals—public and private—offer charitycare or discount programs based on income. Ask our billing team about applications or visit local hospital financialassistance pages for details on eligibility.
Yes. Monthly installments can be arranged before or after your bill arrives. Prompt communication prevents accounts from being sent to collections and avoids interest or fees.
Call our billing office within 30 days. Have your itemized bill, insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB), and any denial letters ready. We’ll review coding, diagnosisrelated groups (DRGs), and admission status to correct errors or appeal on your behalf.
